ABOUT THE BOOK

The book is written to inform you the reader of the many technologies renewable technologies are ready to provide to the world that are not so well known as well as the usual ones. Here you will learn about biofuels that can be made from woody waste as a substitute for diesel called DME or dimethyl ether, torrefied biomass as a substitute for coal, and biochar as a source for carbon sequestration and a soil amendment. Learn what it takes to develop a wind farm. Learn about a sustainable energy system that combines geothermal and solar for long term clean base load power and other things to save you energy and money.

About the Author

Mr. Rappaport, now retired, had been involved in renewable energy for over forty years. In 1972, he invented the geothermal-solar hybrid, for which he was awarded a basic patent in 1978. During the development of the geothermal-solar system, Mr. Rappaport engineered a biomass power project and developed the business plan as well. From this work the development of Biomass One, L.P. emerged and the construction of a 22 MW plant in Medford, Oregon, that has been in commercial operation for the past 30+ years. He served as a founder, general partner, & managing partner. He has been involved with community and non-profits as a volunteer over the years.

"The strength of Rappaport's work lies in its ability to distill complex technologies into digestible and accessible information. The book serves as an invaluable resource for readers seeking a deeper understanding of renewable energy beyond the mainstream options. "

TESTIMONIALS

"This book depicts the symbolic relationship to have with our forests for a healthy and thriving ecosystem in which we all belong.

We take care of the forests, and they give us the energy we need.

I find the forestry management mechanism proposed in this book very sustainable."
